OTC performs conformity assessment of radio equipment and terminal telecommunication devices under the Directive 2014/53/EU, module B “EU type examination”, Annex № 1.

Directive 2014/53/EU was introduced in Bulgaria through the Ordinance on the Essential Requirements and the Conformity Assessment of Radio Equipment.
The procedure requires the manufacturer to submit to the notified body (OTC) the technical dossier of the device and the relevant test reports. Following a successful conformity assessment procedure with applicable standards, OTC issues an "EU Type Certificate". The manufacturer have to ensure that the manufacturing process and its monitoring ensure conformity of the manufactured radio equipment with the approved type as described in the EU type examination certificate and with the requirements of the Regulation applicable to them. The certified device can be placed on the market.
The manufacturer shall draw up a written EU declaration of conformity for each type of radio equipment and keep it at the disposal of the competent authorities for 10 years after the launch of the radio equipment on the market.
The European Commission has developed and maintains the website of the RED Directive to assisting radio equipment manufacturers when placed or made available on the market in the European Union.
