Directive 2014/30/EC Electromagnetic Compatibility

The Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive establishes the basic requirements for electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic equipment. It determines the parameters for the electromagnetic emissions of the equipment to ensure that it does not interfere with the proper functioning of other devices in the presence of electromagnetic interference.
The EMC Directive 2014/30/EC is applied in order to eliminate all disturbances caused by interactions between devices (which may cause abnormal operation or failure), and to ensure the free movement of products, equipment and machinery
The manufacturer / importer / distributor must draw up a technical file containing the documentation necessary to demonstrate the conformity of the product, namely:
- general description of the device and its operation;
- construction and production drawings and diagrams of the components;
- a list of the harmonized standards applied;
- results from the performed design calculations, the conducted researches, etc .;
- test reports;
- Declaration of conformity.
OTC provides its experience to EMC equipment manufacturers wishing to certify their products using the services of a competent body recognized at European level in accordance with the Annex II procedure.
As a result of the assessment of the conformity of the facility with the applicable essential requirements performed by OTC, the receipt of a Certificate of Conformity is obtained. This certification assessment guarantees manufacturers and importers that they place safe equipment on the market.
